I started coming to the Barefoot Boot camp class in September 2009.  I immediately liked the form of exercise, the great music and the inviting atmosphere that Carl provides.  I call it “sneaky exercise” since you may not feel like you are working extremely hard during all of the exercises, but boy does it work.  I started seeing results in less than 6 weeks and they were noticeable.  I joked that I wanted Michelle Obama arms, and I am happy to say that it’s not just my imagination (others have commented on the definition that they see in my arms and shoulders).  I have also dropped about 8 pounds and have maintained the weight loss without having to go on any extreme diets.  The lifestyle change is holistic for mind, body, and spirit.  I moved in January and my commute to class is pretty significant.  I thought about giving up the class after that first Friday of fighting rush hour traffic.  Instead, I found a short cut and have tried to get to class 3 times a week.  I just could not give up my boot camp and fusion classes!!  I have gotten so many questions like “What are you doing, you look better than ever” and I am quick to give them Carl’s name and contact information.  I can’t recommend him and the classes highly enough!

Last year I wore a size 6 dress. I decided to stop smoking cigarette and I began to blossom. Well, to tell it like it really is, I gained quite a few pounds. As the pound increased so did the dress size. I was devastated. I was doing a lot of water aerobics, but I wasn't losing weight Luckily, the doctor got a hold of my mother and insisted that she lose some weight and do some exercising.
I think she got tired of me complaining about my weight,  so, she said lets do something together. We decided  to go to The Magnificent Body. It has been very rewarding for the both of us.

On the advice of my doctor, I was told to lose some weight, and do at least 3.5 hours of exercise a week. Now, I've been to many exercise facilities and spent a lot of money too. But none of them was satisfying. I might lose a pound or two, but I wasn't happy with the atmosphere, therefore, I stopped going.
One day I noticed a sign on the street that was advertising The Magnificent Body. Well, I always thought my body was magnificent, but my doctor didn't think so. Well, I'm losing weight, able to breathe better and can cross my legs. Oh by the way, I couldn't do that prior to going there.
The layout of the facility presents a very peaceful environment. The staff is remarkable. The clientele is very friendly. We look forward to seeing one another. The owner, Carl Powell, makes you feel wanted. You get a lot of personal attention and he knows us on a first name basis. That's important you know. I look forward to going there. It's great! You would never guess that I was 65 years old, if you could just see me exercise

I feel compelled to share with you the best kept secret in Laurel, The Magnificent Body.  It is at this fitness studio that I was introduced to a whole new world of exercise called “Pilates”.  Owner and founder of this establishment Carl Powell not only changed my mind about exercise, he also changed my pants size!  I thought that saying “no pain no gain” was true until I began attending classes at The Magnificent Body.  The atmosphere is so relaxing and not intimidating.  I have made this haven my second home.

The Magnificent Body exercise studio, under the guidance of Carl and his team has given me a different outlook on exercising. Variety plus a comfortable atmosphere keeps me coming back. Even better my doctor informed me that I have gained bone density and muscle, while losing fat. I am on my way to a “Magnificent Body”!
